The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), in collaboration with the Melcom Group, is showcasing Japanese daily products at Melcom Plus, North Industrial Area.

The one month trial sale dubbed; “Antenna Shop, Japan 2014” is intended to display various Japanese daily products to the Ghanaian consumer. Some of the products, being displayed at the trial sale, included foodstuff and beverage, healthcare and beauty products, household products and stationery.

Mr Naoto Nikai, Japanese Ambassador in Ghana, inaugurating the shop, said a lot of research went into the manufacturing of Japanese products to make them user friendly and achieve the best out of them.

He said Japanese researchers and manufactures also worked constantly to improve on existing products and introduce new ones onto the market to meet the needs and aspirations of consumers. He expressed the hope that Japanese products displayed at the shop would be beneficial to Ghanaians and help in the development of the country.

Mr Nikai said as Japanese companies became more interested in doing business in Ghana, he was confident “Antenna Shop, Japan 2014” would be a sign of great things to happen in Japan-Ghana economic relations.

“It is my hope that this month-long showcase and sale of Japanese products will contribute to strengthen Japan-Ghana relations,” he said. Hiroyuku Nenoto, Director, Trade and Economic Cooperation Division of JETRO, said the event was a showcase to introduce new Japanese daily products to the Ghanaian market.
