Karpowership producing above contractual volume

Karpowership Ghana limited says it has been producing above the minimum contractual volume of 200 megawatts of power.

According to the company, it produced an average of 210 MW of uninterrupted electrical power in April contrary to reports that karpowership is producing below capacity.

Karpowership, in a statement copied to business guide, said it was producing 210 MW as compared to the minimum contractual volume of 200 MW.

It also expressed its commitment to supplying sustainable and affordable electricity in Ghana through its state-of-the-art powerships.

‘In addition to its contribution to the national grid, karpowership guarantees on the highest fuel efficiencies and provides lowest fuel cost for Ghana.

‘With the use of low Sulphur heavy fuel oil, electricity produced by karpowership is much cheaper than crude oil and natural gas and is independent of supply interruptions of gas or light crude oil (LCO).

‘As a strategic partner committed to Ghana’s development, we will continue to provide all Ghanaians reliable, sustainable and affordable electricity,’ the statement said.

Karadeniz Powership Fatmagul sultan, which has an installed capacity of 235mw, has been generating electricity in Ghana since December 18, 2015.

The power barge was constracted from Turkish company as part of the medium-term measures adopted by the government crisis.
