Kenya Airways has pushed back the date for the deployment of one of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners on the Accra route.

The wide body aircraft was scheduled to start serving the Nairobi-Accra route starting this June, but an incident involving one of the Nairobi-based airline’s aircraft in the US has forced a change in plans.

The commencement date, has now been pushed back by a month, George Kamal, Chief Operating Officer, Kenya Airways, told AviationGhana on the sidelines of the recent IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit, held in Dubai and hosted by Emirates.

The Nairobi-based airline, which currently operates 10 flights per week to Accra, plans to use the modern wide-body aircraft four times per week on the route.

Kenya Airways currently services Freetown, Monrovia, and Dakar from Accra.
