Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku, says following the re-opening of the Kintampo Waterfalls in the Bring Ahafo Region, the facility is enjoying massive patronage unlike before.

“Just three months after the re-opening of the Kintampo Waterfalls, 3,000 people have visited the facility. This is historic and very good for our country”, she noted when she took her turn at the Meet-the-Press series, Monday, to espouse what her ministry has been able to achieve over the year and what it intends doing, in the coming years.

The Kintampo Waterfalls was rehabilitated and reopened to the public by the Vice-President of the land, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in November 2017, eight months after it was shut down following a freak accident that occurred in March leading to the death of about 18 people, mostly students who were on an excursion.

Hon. Afeku commenting further told journalists that following the successful implementation of the roadmap strategy in the re-opening of the Kintampo Waterfalls, same will be adopted to ensure that other tourists sites in the country are upgraded with their services improved to attract massive patronage.
