Kwabre NDC Suspends Three Executive For Misconduct

Mamponteng (Ash), June 24, - The Kwabre Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended three Executive Members pending the outcome of investigations into their conduct. They are Mr F. K. Owusu, Chairman, Mr Oppong Kyekyeku Kaakyire, Secretary and Mr Augustine Domfe, Propaganda Secretary. A statement signed by 14 other members of the Executive, explained that their suspension follows the use of the name of the entire Executive in a plot to cause the removal of the Kwabre District Chief Executive, Mr Kwame Ampong, without their consent. The statement said "following your admission at an arbitration held on June 4, 1997, on the issue that you have acted wrongly and thereby brought the name of the Executives into disrepute and your consequent apology to the Executives, we hereby declare that we have lost confidence in your integrity and efficiency". "We eventually invoke articles 29 and 30, sub-section four of the NDC code of discipline to suspend you from Executive positions in the party for having acted to ridicule the party, pending a thorough investigation to be conducted by the constituency Disciplinary Committee", it added.
