Currently happening now is the launch of the National Tax Campaign by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra to educate taxpayers on their rights and obligations as well as raising awareness of enforcement activity and potential sanctions that will encourage improved compliance across the board.
Special guest of honour is the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, who will throw more light on tax system in Ghana.
The objective of the national tax campaign is to engage as many potential taxpayers as possible and encourage them to comply with their tax obligations voluntarily to increase revenue generation.
This is an opportunity to promote the positive changes that are being made within the GRA, and to start to address taxpayer’s concerns about Customer Service and Integrity.
The campaign will run over a long period of time, with different emphasis, and specific objectives, at different points. In the short-term, that is up to December 2017.
