A solicitor of the Supreme Court in England, Evans Yaw Amoh-Nyamekye, has highlighted the Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo as a crucial platform for diaspora investors seeking to integrate into Ghana's property market safely and effectively.
Speaking at the event, which was held at Alisa Hotels in Accra on December 13, 2024, Amoh-Nyamekye emphasised the importance of legal support and understanding the investment processes when it comes to the property market.
He praised Ghana for providing the diaspora with opportunities to invest and integrate into the local market.
However, he also pointed out that one of the significant challenges in the industry has been the lack of legal support for potential buyers.
He noted that the expo offers a unique opportunity for potential buyers to engage with various state institutions and professional organisations, ensuring they receive comprehensive legal advive.
“One of the challenges in this industry has been the legal support for potential buyers. A lot of people have had the opportunity to embrace legal opportunities and advice, but they've missed the opportunity to do so.
"In the diaspora, there's no way you'll buy property without engaging a legal officer. In Ghana, sometimes some people tend to sidestep it, but here, this platform gives you the opportunity to have access to the right legal advice," he stated.
The expo aims to address this by offering a platform where investors can understand the necessary legal processes and receive proper guidance.
“What the expo offers is the opportunity to have an understanding by engaging in the opportunity to understand legal advice in the right way,” he added.
Amoh-Nyamekye stressed that embracing legal advice is crucial for ensuring safe and successful property investments for buyers, especially the diaspora.
"Hopefully, when they engage in the legal opportunities, they have the legal advice that they require," he added.
The annual Ghana Property and Lifestyle Expo continues to be a vital event for fostering collaboration between the diaspora and local stakeholders and promoting safe and informed investment practices in Ghana's property market.
