Life Insurance sector of SIC rake in over C100bn

Koforidua, June 02, GNA- For the first time in the history of the State Insurance Company (SIC), the Life Insurance section was able to raise over 100 billion cedis in 2006.

This was disclosed by the General Manager of SIC In-charge of Life Insurance, Mr. Afrifa Yamoah at the closing ceremony of a five-days retraining workshop of 25 Insurance Agents of SIC at Koforidua on Friday.

He observed that, it was easy to get to the top but difficult to stay at the top and therefore urged the insurance agents to support the management of the company to enable them to improve upon their performance.

Mr. Yamoah advised the insurance agents to always tell the customers the truth about the product they would be offering them and always remain focused.

He observed that, the recommendations of the Presidential Commission of Pension has opened the market for more business opportunities for them, because a lot more people would like to take up pension and life policies to get additional income in their retirement to enhance their pensions.

The Eastern Regional Branch Manager of SIC, Baafour Otuo Akyeampong, who chaired the function, called on the insurance agents to be disciplined and to separate their personal money from that of the company and paid them in early.

He urged them to take good care of themselves so that they would always be welcomed by their clients. 02 June 2007
