Ahead of Wednesday’s May Day celebrations, staff of telecommunication giants MTN embarked on an event dubbed Customer Outreach Day.

In Accra, executives and other employees of MTN Ghana toured some major market centres including Makola, Kaneshie, Ashaiman and Agbogbloshie markets where they interacted with traders.

The MTN staff provided information to registered and potential customers on their products and services and also solicited feedback from them.

Speaking to the media after the tour, Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana, Samuel Koranteng explained the event is in line with their ‘Year of the Customer’ initiative which seeks to make the satisfaction of their customers a priority.

He stated that the decision to visit the markets is to bring the products and services of the company to the doorstep of the traders and also address their issues since most of them do not find it convenient to visit their customer care centres.

“We have declared this year, the year of the customer and the customers are the ones who patronize our services. So we’ve dedicated this year to them. We want to delight them and make them understand all the services offered by MTN and know which one is suitable for their work, children and family. We are here on an education idea drive to listen to the customers and advise them on the network and products we offer”.

“By the time we live here, the people will understand and appreciate our products and services. We came with more than 200 of staff and everyone is engaging someone to explain to them what they can do with our products and services”, Mr. Koranteng further explained.
