MTN, the leading telecommunications company in Ghana, differentiated itself from the rest of the pack by winning four substantial awards at the 2015 Ghana Telecom Awards.
The awards, which included the coveted Mobile Operator of the year, were received at a ceremony held at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra at the weekend.
MTN Ghana topped other telcos including categories such as: Mobile Money Service of the Year, Customer Service Company of the Year and Cloud Company of the Year.
Speaking at the ceremony, on winning the Customer Service Company for the second consecutive time, the Customer Care Executive of MTN Ghana, Mrs Jemima Kotei-Walsh said: “At MTN we believe service is the new selling, that’s why we pay particular attention to our customer needs.”
She said, a quality service culture is essential in sustaining and driving the continuous growth for the business and MTN would continue to pay attention to the things that are critical in improving customer experience.
Mrs Kotei-Walsh said the awards demonstrate the huge investments MTN continues to make in its network and business to ensure unparalleled service delivery to its valued customers across the country.
The Mobile Operator of the year award was in recognition of the company’s consistent and substantial investments in its network, which has been evident in the Mobile operator passing in a sustainable way all the independent quality of service tests carried out by the National Communications Authority (NCA), which measures various call quality parameters to ascertain the experience customers receive on the network.
The NCA commended MTN for the high performance of its network.
MTN has the widest 2G coverage across the length and breadth of Ghana as well as the first telecommunications company to attain 3G coverage in 170 district capitals, thus leading the delivery of a bold new digital world and unparalleled 3G data experience to its subscribers.
The Mobile money service of the year was in recognition of MTN’s sustained and innovative products and drive to ensure financial inclusion to the large sections of the unbanked population, as well as meaningful products designed for small and medium scale enterprises to facilitate the drive towards the achievement of a cashless society.
Mrs Kotei-Walsh dedicated the awards to all MTN customers
