MTN joins TECNO to unveil Camon CX

TECNO MOBILE Ghana has partnered telecommunications giant MTN to launch its latest smartphone dubbed, ‘Camon CX’ onto the domestic market.

Speaking at the launch held at the head office of MTN on Tuesday in Accra, Retail Manager at TECNO Mobile, Daniel Glover, said TECNO, through its Camon series, brings to the market devices that are intended to showcase excellence in smartphone photography.

He said, “TECNO Camon CX has come to replace the TECNO Camon C9. These two devices with one replacing the other can best be compared with what happened between Elijah and Elisha in the Bible when Elisha took over from Elijah.”

“It is therefore with an elated heart that I wish to say that if you are a selfie addict, which I think we all are today, then the Camon CX is your solution to the problems associated with taking pictures, especially selfies using other devices,” according to Mr. Glover.

The Camon CX, he indicated, has a centred 16MP front camera with dual front facing flash light. While the front and rear cameras are 16MP.

The rear camera has a ring flash that has four different flashes in it.”

Mr. Glover explained that “TECNO Camon CX has an aerospace–grade aluminum alloy uni-body. Its thickness is 5.6mm. It has 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display. The ROM is 16GB and the RAM is 2GB. It is a 4G device with lightening speed charging features.”

The device comes in different colors- Champagne Gold, Sky Gray, Elegant Blue and Rose Gold, he added.

I know you can all testify to the fact that TECNO’s smart phones have exhibited consistent quality improvement and delivered the delight our numerous customers are always looking for. “

Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Asher Khan, stated that Camon CX would go a long way to satisfy the needs of consumers.

TECNO Mobile is a major driver of mobile phone penetration in Africa. This is because TECNO operates in over 35 countries in Africa, and currently retains the largest market share of 25.3% across six major African markets, including Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Cameroon and Ethiopia.
