Market Index Slumps

ACCRA, Ghana (PANA) - A string of losses in the share price of three equities on the Ghana Stock Exchange Wednesday sent the All-Share Index tumbling by 11.8 points and wiping off the 6.75 points it gained Monday.

The All-Share Index closed at 778.32 points and brought the change of the year to date to negative 10.37 per cent.

Total shares traded on the market slipped slightly to 154,900 compared to the 166,200.

Demand for shares dropped sharply to 191,000 against 1.03 million Monday from the 1.7 million offers.
