Market index slumps in drab session

Accra, June 24, GNA - Trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) finished the week with the GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, slumpping in a drab session on Friday.

The GSE All-Share index went down by 9.61 points at 6,024.46 points from Wednesday's 6,034.07 points. The Change Year-To-Date was poorer at -11.39 per cent.

Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) and Unilever lost while Patterson Zochonis (PZ) was the sole gainer. EIC lost 500 cedis at 7,000 cedis and Unilever also lost 500 cedis at 16,500 cedis. PZ gained 300 cedis at 6,300 cedis.

Total shares that changed hands were up at 74,000 from 66,500 shares during the previous trading. Market capitalisation ended lower at 94,971.31 billion cedis from 95,006.94 billion cedis in Wednesday's trading.
