The chairman of McDan Group in partnership with Ghana’s Largest Network of young entrepreneurs- GYE to support young entrepreneurs through a project dubbed “McDan Young Entrepreneurs Challenge (MYEC).”
The challenge which will be open to young people with sustainable business ideas to compete through stages is aim at bridging the gap between funds and young innovative entrepreneurs or startups.
Winners at the end of the day will be supported with Seed Capital, Mentorship/ Coaching and after care services.
Speaking to our reporter today at the FAGRO-National Food & Agric Show, 2017 held in La Palm Royal Beach, The CEO of GYE Mr. Sherif Ghali indicated that, the MYEC project is one of their flagship projects which seek out to promote youth entrepreneurship in the country.
He disclosed that the project will be launched on 29th, July, 2017 at the GIMPA Executive Conference to pave way for the acceptance of application (business plan proposals) from young people.
When probed why the choice of name for this very project. He explained that, “We (GYE) submitted our projects to accomplished entrepreneurs and Mcdan demonstrated interest in taken up the sponsorship for the Young Entrepreneurs challenge. Other entrepreneurs who mostly are Board members of GYE have also adopted some of the projects. That notwithstanding we still open our doors for sponsorship because we believe that, everyone in the country should get involved in this project for it to achieve its aim of supporting young entrepreneurs actualized their business ideas”.
“There is no doubt that one of the paramount challenges that confront young people is Funding. So with this project, hope will be restored and the youth can bank on this opportunity to start their business ventures.”
