Mining training to come off in Takoradi

The Centre for Human Excellence (CHE), a human-resource development and training firm, will from March, 21- 24 organise a four-day gold mining and occupational health & safety training workshop at the Workers College in Takoradi.

Participants will be studying two major topics: “Mineral Processing and Gold Extraction” and “Occupational Health and Safety in the Mines”. The training and course coordinator at CHE, Irene Baaba Okweesi Acquaah, said the programme is specially designed for people interested in working with prestigious mining firms.

“These courses are for people who are interested in learning about the processes involved in gold extraction and those who are looking for the opportunity to work with prestigious gold mining companies such as Goldfields Ghana Limited, Anglogold Ashanti, Newmont Ghana Gold and others. This programme can as well serve as a platform to increase your chances of gaining good employment with better salaries,” she said.

“The benefits that one gets from this programme are numerous. Depending on the amount you pay, you either get certificates of proficiency, competence or mastery. Also, the higher you pay the more the benefits.

“Over 245 positions with job descriptions and corresponding salary ranges which are currently available in the mining industry will be given to participants at the end of the training to enable them apply appropriately," she said.

Participants will also be guided on how to develop a safety and environmental policy.
