Modern interchange to be constructed at Kasoa

A modern interchange will be constructed in Kasoa in the Central Region to ease traffic congestion in the ever expanding Central Region town, a government official has said.

The project is expected to commence next year, a Deputy Minister of Information and Media Relations told journalists on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Felix Kwakye Ofosu was addressing the journalists during the Daily Media Briefing at the Flagstaff House in Kanda, Accra.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu also disclosed that the Tema Motorway will be expanded into a six-lane motorway “with a modern interchange at the Tema Roundabout in order to ease the congestion there”.

He underscored government’s efforts in expanding road projects in the country. “Dome-Ketaase Road is coming up. The rehabilitation of the Ashongman-Hatsso-Agbogba Estates Road is also ongoing.”

The projects will be constructed with proceeds from the $3 billion Chinese Development Loan, he noted.
