More companies donate to Farmers' Day

Accra, Nov. 15, GNA - Eleven companies on Tuesday donated money and agricultural equipment worth over 500 million cedis to the Ministry of Agriculture to support this year's Farmers' Day celebration. Ghana Cocoa Board gave farming implements and cash of 310 million cedis, Ghana Commercial Bank presented a cheque for 50 million cedis, while the Ghana Rubber Estate Limited donated items worth 35 million cedis.

Merchant Bank gave a cheque for 20 million cedis, Qualiplast Limited presented household items worth 10 million cedis, AB Scales donated a locally manufactured scale at the cost of 15 million cedis and Calli Ghana Limited donated agrochemicals and spraying equipment worth 30 million cedis.

Other donors were C. Woermann Ghana Limited which gave two cocoa spraying machines and one water pump amounting to 10 million cedis, Lads Technical Services which donated farming equipment valued at seven million cedis, Dannex Pharmaceuticals which presented veterinary products while Pambrose Ghana limited gave 10 million worth of refined salt.

Mr Ernest Debrah, Minister of Food and Agriculture who received the items thanked the donors for their support and called on other individuals and organisations to contribute towards this year's celebration.
