NDC and NPP urged to print campaign materials locally

Miss Jacqueline Afful, Managing Director (MD) of Appointed Time Printing Press (ATP), has made a passionate appeal to the two major political parties namely, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to print their campaign paraphernalia within Ghana, rather than outsourcing the work to China.

Madam Afful emphasised that her company is fully equipped to meet the demand for campaign materials, offering both the capacity and quality needed by the political parties.

She stressed that choosing local production would not only support the growth of the Ghanaian printing industry but also create employment opportunities for Ghanaians during the election period.

"If I were on television, I would have knelt down to plead with them. We have the capacity and can match the quality of any foreign production.

By choosing local production, we can help address the unemployment issue by creating jobs for Ghanaians," she said.

Madam Afful also highlighted the broader benefits of supporting local businesses, noting that her company, Appointed Time Printing Press, provides training for its employees.

This, in turn, empowers them to start their own small printing businesses, further contributing to the growth of the industry.

Her appeal comes amid reports that the NDC and NPP are allegedly printing their election materials outside Ghana.

Madam Afful warned that this practice could stifle the growth of the local industry and urged political parties, parliamentarians, and businesses that support politicians to consider Appointed Time Printing Press for their campaign needs.
