NGOs network to improve business environment

The Network of Associations of Registered NGOs in Ghana (NARN) has lined up a number of events targeting business organisations, to help improve the country’s business environment.

One such event is the establishment of a strategic partnerships forum for the business community to promote and market products, goods and services. The Network made this known in a news release signed by its Events Director, Mr Kofi Lucas, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Friday.

“It is no secret that businesses generally have not been too good this year 2013 for majority of businesses in Ghana”, said the release which also indicated that the Strategic Partners Business Networking Forum it had initially scheduled for the third week of October, would now be held in December.

It explained that the rescheduling of the forum had become necessary in order to avoid a clash with two other high profile events happening in Accra around the same period, one of them the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) 4th Local Content Exhibition and Conference.

It said NARN’s strategic partners, including the business community and the Church constituency, would participate in the forum which would, among other things, explore opportunities in mobilizing support for the business community’s programmes and projects, as well as getting the business community to support the activities of the Church, the release further stated.

The organisation would also encourage businesses to sponsor projects of the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service and the Ghana Immigration Service, it said, adding that stakeholders would undertake charity activities including the Needy Students Support Project, Food for Needy Senior Citizens and Widows.
