Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been adjudged the Downstream Regulator of the Year 2016 in Africa for sanitizing the country’s petroleum downstream industry to bring about fairness in the sector.
The award, given by the Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL), was presented to the Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Hassan Tampuli in London on the sidelines of the International Petroleum (IP) Week.
It was also in recognition of NPA’s robust regulatory environment and remarkable navigation of total deregulation of its petroleum industry.
A statement issued by the NPA a confirmation of its resilient efforts aimed at sanitizing the downstream industry in Ghana and creating a level playing field for all operators involved in the sector.
OTL Downstream Energy Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, industry and achievement in downstream petroleum business; they symbolise the industry’s seal of approval and honour.
The awards are in recognition of true value added efforts being made by organisations and persons in business, policy and social responsibility towards achieving industry growth.
