In a bid to inject new life into Ghana’s economy, the government is turning to the private sector for innovative solutions.

According to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Works and Housing, the private sector will play a crucial role in unlocking the country’s economic potential.

“We’re emphasizing Public Private Partnership (PPP) to leverage the private sector’s creativity and financing expertise,” Oppong Nkrumah explained in an interview with Lantam Papanko on State of Affairs on GHOne TV.

“This collaboration will enable us to achieve far more than government efforts alone”, he added.

When questioned about the government’s track record, particularly Dr. Bawumia’s leadership in digitalization, Oppong Nkrumah acknowledged challenges but expressed confidence in the new approach.

“Though progress has been made, we recognize the need for bold solutions. Dr. Bawumia’s experience and vision make him the ideal leader to drive this transformation.”

On concerns about trust, Oppong Nkrumah assured, “We understand skepticism, but our commitment to NPP and private sector engagement will yield tangible results. We’re poised to tackle long-standing issues and revitalize the economy.”

Oppong Nkrumah emphasized, “This is a new era for Ghana’s economy. We’re committed to making NPP work and delivering results. The private sector is crucial to our success.”
