Nana Owusu-Afari heads Association of Ghana Industries

Accra, Dec. 2, GNA - Nana Owusu-Afari has been elected the President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for the year 2009- 2011, a statement signed by Mr. Cletus Kosiba, Executive Director, said on Wednesday.

Mr. Afari until his election was the Vice President (Large Scale) of the Association.

The President-elect takes over from Mr. Tony Oteng-Gyasi, who ends his two-term tenure as President of the Association. Mr. Oteng-Gyasi will formally be handing over the mantle of leadership at an Investiture Ceremony in January 2010.

Other members of the executives elected at the 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of AGI are Dr. George Dawson-Ahmoah, Vice President (Large Scale), Mr. Samuel A. Appenteng, Vice President (Small Scale), Mr. Joe Hyde Jr, National Treasurer, The Rev. Lincoln Donkor, Executive Member and Mrs. Awurabena Okrah, Executive Member. In his acceptance speech, Nana Owusu-Afari thanked AGI Members for the confidence reposed in him to steer the affairs of the Association for a two-year term. He commended the outgoing President, Mr. Oteng-Gyasi for his exemplary leadership and performance in the last four years.
