Accra, Feb 5, GNA - Nestle Ghana Limited on Tuesday presented a cheque for GHC10,000 to the Ministry of Health (MOH) in fulfilment of its promise to support the Ministry's regenerative health fair held in 2007.
Ms Cecilia Dei-Anang, Public Affairs Manager, Nestle, noted that as the company's slogan called for good food for healthy living, it was prudent for the company to contribute to such an agendum which aimed at encouraging positive eating habits.
Mr Herre Duranton, Out-going Managing Director of the company, said Nestle over the years had been partnering the Ministry in promoting good health.
Major Courage Quashigah ((Rtd), Minister of Health who received the cheque emphasized the need for Ghanaians to adopt healthy living to save the country of the many health problems.
He noted that though the country was the first to suggest regenerative health in 2005, it had not been able to implement it due to the lack of funds and commended Nestle for its support.
Major Quashigah called for the inculcation of health education into the schools curriculum to enable the young generation to adopt good eating practice.
He urged the business community to support the Ministry's vision of healthy living through its Health Fairs.
