New boss for Lotteries

The government on Thursday named Mr Kojo Andah, a financial and management consultant, as the new Director of the Department of National Lotteries (DNL).

A statement signed by Ms W.N. Mahama, Acting Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Finance, said the appointment takes immediate effect.

The statement said Mr Andah's appointment is expected to accelerate the restructuring of the DNL and make it a significant revenue earner for the government.

Mr Andah holds a post-graduate certificate in International Finance and Financial Management from Stanford Business School.

Until his appointment, he was the managing consultant of P.O. Andah and Associates Ltd, an investment and financial advisory group.

From 1997 to 2002, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Group. Between 1991 and 1997, he was the Deputy Group Treasurer and Manager, Corporate Finance, of Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd.

He has served on the boards of various financial institutions both in Ghana and abroad and is currently a Director of the Trust Bank and General Leasing and Finance Company Limited.
