Accra, June 14, GNA - Geberit International Company Limited, a Swiss world leader in the water and sanitation sector is to introduce new technology to help address water and sanitation problems in the country.
The company will introduce the latest technology and address related issues such as sanitary equipment and plumbing systems at a day's seminar be held in Accra, on Tuesday, June 19. The seminar, which will take place at the hall of the Ghana Institution of Architects, will be facilitated by Mr Dieter Lienhard, Head of Marketing, Geberit International.
In an interview in Accra on Thursday, Mr Francis Sekyere, Managing Director of APLUTECH 2000 Company Limited, sole agents in Ghana of Geberit International, said the seminar will be attended by representatives from the Ghana Real Estates Developers Association (GREDA), Architects, Building Contractors, Hoteliers, Plumbing Contractors and other stakeholders in the Construction Industry He said APLUTECH, which is currently installing all the sanitary equipment and plumbing systems for the African Union (AU) Conference to be held in Accra in July is relying exclusively on these Geberit products, which include single and double flush cisterns, electronic waste systems, sanitary equipment for public toilets, among others.
"Our equipment are designed on the basis of state of the art technologies that make bad odour a thing of the past in our sanitary system applications", Mr Sekyere emphasized that the operations of Geberit International in Ghana will impact positively on the economy through water conservation equipment and the re-introduction of underground water tanks to preserve water for domestic uses during periods of scarcity, adding that it will also address the current deteriorating water and sanitation problems facing the country, particularly the capital.
"All over the world, water is increasingly becoming a scarce resource and it is absolutely necessary to put in place measures that will mitigate the problem of the people and guarantee such a valuable commodity in any crisis situation," Mr Sekyere added.
