Niche Cocoa Industry Limited, was adjudged the Best Exporter of the Year 2013 by the Ghana Export Promotion Authority on Friday 17th October 2014 at the 24th National Awards for Export Promotion.
The award was presented to Mr. Edmund Poku, Founder and Managing Director of Niche Cocoa Industry by Dr. Ekow Spio- Garbrah, Minister of Trade and Industry at the Banquet Hall, Accra.
Niche, a privately owned and operated cocoa processing company in the Free Zones Enclave of Tema was established in 2011. The Company produces high-quality cocoa liquor, cocoa butter and cocoa cake for export.
In the Company’s statement delivered after receiving the award by Mr. Lloyd Ashiley, GM of Niche Cocoa, on behalf of Mr. Edmund Poku, Niche acknowledged the contribution of the cocoa farmers, Ghana Cocoa Board and its staff to its achievements. It expressed appreciation for the award and expressed faith in the role of value addition of companies prior to export to the development of the nation through provision of employment and generation of foreign exchange.
The long term on Niche Cocoa Industry is to move into the consumer products market.
