The CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan (NEIP), Lawyer John Kumah has assured all SME applicants who have applied to his outfit for training and financial support of a free and fair beneficiary selection process.

"There isn't going to be anything such as considering party members or family and friends come ending of August when we make a final selection of SMEs to benefit from NEIP's training program and financial support", he stated.

Lawyer Kumah disclosed that NEIP has hired the services of entrepreneurship hubs for the training and selection of SMEs for the interest-free loan from government which would be repaid after a particular time frame.

He made the revelation in response to a question posed by a budding entrepreneur and co-guest, Bright Aferi, CEO of Hill Bill - a Ghanaian-owned shoe manufacturing company - on the Biz Trends TV show.

NEIP's CEO also called on SMEs to pay close attention to their businesses, in terms of proper branding, market research and packaging since they are very key components to every height they want their businesses to attain.

Bright Aferi later presented a pair of shoes to Lawyer Kumah. While showing appreciation for the gesture, the barrister commended him and tasked him to look beyond the Ghanaian market, as far as marketing of his products is concerned.
