Olam Ghana Limited, a leading agri-business and a major supply chain manager of agricultural products and food ingredients, was adjudged the best agro-based company in 2015 at this year’s Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Awards.

Olam was recognised for excellence in its unique out-grower operations in the cocoa sector, its investments into the promotion of non-traditional crops like Cashew, its policy of value addition in all its operations and the company’s practical commitment to living the ‘Made-in Ghana’ dream.

Since 1989, the CIMG Awards has been Ghana’s most covetous platform of recognition for excellence and outstanding achievements in marketing and works of marketers in industry, the objective of which is to promote high professional standards, encourage excellence among marketing practitioners and ensure an improved quality of products and services.

A citation supporting the award read in part, “Your involvement with outgrowers within the cocoa industry, where you assist them with cash and other incentives and the purchase of the product which you convert into cocoa liquor for export is worth commending.”

The citation concludes that Olam Ghana has “taken agro-business a notch higher” by adopting the proactive initiative of research, tailor-made marketing practices and value delivery - for which the company has been highly rated by evaluators.
