Ghana’s leading integrated marketing communications company, Origin8 has been awarded the Advertising Company of the year by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) at the 6th Ghana Industry Awards.

Speaking at the 6th Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and Quality Awards ceremony, President Nana Akufo-Addo entreated entrepreneurs to add value to raw materials instead of exporting them to other countries.

President Akufo-Addo described the system of producing and exporting raw materials to the industrialised countries as the “Guggisberg economy” and called for a paradigm shift.

“The raw material producing economy, which I call the Guggisberg economy has run its course,” the President added and stressed that “We must add value to the resources our nation have been endowed with by the Almighty, we must industrialise!”

Commenting on the award, Mr. William Ansah, CEO of Origin8 stated that, “Origin8 will continue to offer unparalleled services to its clients and add value to them.

Mr. Ansah noted that “we have come this far because of the continuous support of our clients and their dedicated business. We celebrate this award with them and promise to ensure that we meet their needs effectively and efficiently.”

Dr. Tony Oteng-Gyasi, Chairman of Tropical Cable and Conductor Ltd was adjudged the overall best industrial company of the year.

Dr. Oteng-Gyasi said his company was hoping that the 2018 budget will include plans to reduce power tariffs to help businesses and sustain the stimulus package and promote the 1D-1F policy.
