The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has noted that the proposed Women’s Development Bank will empower women.
Speaking at the NDC’s manifesto launch on Saturday, August 24, in Winneba, the education minister said the bank will empower female entrepreneurs who face challenges accessing loans from financial institutions.
“The Women’s Development Bank will be established to empower female entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing low-interest loans, financial education, and sustainable support," she said.
“This initiative will create job opportunities and bring down the financial barriers that many women face when starting and sustaining businesses,” Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang stated.
She added that the bank, if established, would boost the businesses of female entrepreneurs and curb the harassment they often face when seeking loans.
“Additionally, the bank will provide women-led businesses with advisory services and low-interest loans, further supporting their growth and success.”
