Over 40 companies honoured at 4th Oil and Gas Awards night

The Ghana Oil and Gas Awards (GOGA) has held its 4th Awards ceremony to award outstanding organizations and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the country’s oil and gas sector.

Revelling “10 years of Oil Discovery; 4 years of Celebrating excellence”, the scheme represented a cross-section ranging from government, regulators, oil and gas, stakeholders, civil society, downstream and upstream, financial institutions and more.

According to the Director at Xodus Communications Limited, organizers of the event, Richard Abbey Jnr, the event, which was held at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel in Accra on December 8, 2017, was also a “platform for the Oil and Gas industry to demonstrate and celebrate the advances made in the key areas of the environment stewardship, efficiency, innovation, leadership, corporate social responsibility and health and safety.”

The night saw the attendance of Deputy Minister for Energy, in Charge of Petroleum, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam who commended the organisers for the initiative to encourage companies in the sector to assist in the sustenance and development of Ghana’s economic growth.

Dr. Amin Adam averred that “Government is determined to grow the [oil and gas] industry, create opportunities as well wealth through the implementation of policies such as the National LPG Promotion Policy” thus urged for the establishment of more local oil & gas companies.



Among the big wins for the night were Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, CEO of Rigworld International Services who was awarded the CEO of the Year; Goil Ghana Limited emerged winner in the Oil Marketing Company of the Year category; Entrepreneur of the year was awarded to Rev. Dr. Kwaku Frimpong of Frimps Oil Company Limited.
