Suhum, July 11, GNA - Twenty-five members of Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) in the Suhum/Kraboa/Coaltar District have attended a five-day technical workshop in designing, cutting and fixing of garment parts at Suhum.
Suhum Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in collaboration with National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) organised the workshop. Ms Rebecca Kodua, Eastern Regional Manager of NBSSI, addressing the closing session said establishment of the President Special Initiative (PSI) on Garment was to promote the industry and export the garments to generate more foreign exchange for the nation.
She urged the participants to take advantage of the prospects to develop their skills.
Mr Isaac Gyasi-Ababio, Suhum/Kraboa/Coaltar District Manager of BAC said the workshop was to build the capacity of young entrepreneurs and equip them with the necessary skills to enhance their efficiency. He said with "fine finishing and design products in the industry could be competitive on world market."
Mr Gyasi-Ababio appealed to the participants to seek assistance from BAC to improve on their operations.
