Participants laud Vodafone’s National Coding Programme

Some beneficiaries of Vodafone Ghana’s National Coding Programme have hailed the telecommunication network for the initiative, which forms part of its commitment to igniting Ghana’s digital revolution among the youth.

The participants include Henrietta Eshun, a student caterer and one of the 50 young people who participated in the Central Region edition of the programme. She was full of praise for Vodafone and encouraged others to take advantage of this rare opportunity.

Speaking at the end of the 5-day training held at Adisadel College in Cape Coast, Henrietta said " I am so happy I was part of this coding programme. I was able to create my own website where my customers can interact with me and find out more about my catering services".

" I have also learnt how to improve my improve my social media visibility with the help of the staff trainers here,” she added.

According to Henrietta, Vodafone’s coding training has served as an eye opener for her and for all who took part in the training.

Interacting with the participants Gayheart Mensah, External Affairs Director at Vodafone Ghana said ‘’Our presence in the Central Region today is part of a commitment to prepare the youth for the exciting digital future. It is important that you embrace technology and more importantly coding in order to be a key player in tomorrow’s economy. I want to encourage you to also spend some time to find out about the trends in technology and understand the skills that you need to acquire in order to meet your career choice. ‘’

The Vodafone National Coding programme which will benefit 10,000 Ghanaians in the next five years is targeted at Ghanaian youth aged between 14 and 18 years with a passion for technological innovation and will typically last for five days in each region.
