Some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the country have started increasing the prices of petroleum products at the pumps as the second pricing window for October begins.
Checks by GhanaWeb Business as of October 17, 2024, showed that petrol is selling at GH¢14.72 per litre at Shell pumps, representing about a 7 percent increase, while diesel has gone up by 4.45 percent and is selling at GH¢14.99 per litre.
Market leader Goil has also increased the price of petrol to sell at GH¢14.49 per litre whereas diesel is selling at GH¢14.90.
This represents a more than 4 percent increase compared to prices from the first pricing window of October 2024.
The second biggest oil marketing firm, Star Oil has increased its prices, selling a litre of petrol at GH¢13.99, representing more than a 7 percent increase from its old price.
Subsequently, diesel is going for GH¢14.19 at the OMC.
However, PetroSol is selling a litre of petrol at GH¢13.65, while diesel is going for GH¢14.25.
