Pioneer Aluminium Company Shuts Down

Cooking ware manufacturer, Pioneer Aluminium Company has barred its workers from entering the plant following agitation over end-of-year bonuses. The management of the company issued a notice to the workers that they would be unable to pay end-of-year bonuses because of low profits this year.

The workers however rejected the decision saying there is evidence that the company made gains this year. The secretary of the local workers union, Daniel Tetteh told JOY FM that the union was in negotiations to resolve the issue. He therefore regretted that management decided to lock out staff when negotiations had not been completed.

Meanwhile, police have been detailed to the company’s yard to prevent the workers from entering the plant.
