.Sunny Electronics To Open Ghana Plant
.Another Ready To Put Up Intl Airport
Just one of hundreds! The President's last week trip to Turkey is paying off, with so many investors swarming to Ghana to do business.
One of such Turkish businesses is the technology giants, Sunny Electronics. Its General Manager, Mr Mehmet Atmaca told a section of the Ghanaian business delegation that the management of Sunny has decided to make Ghana its centric point in the manufacture and distribution of electronic gadgets such as LED flat screen televisions, HD Multimedia Satellite Receivers and other technological devices for the fast-changing digital world.
According to Sunny management, the destination of Ghana as an assembly plant is as a result of the relatively peaceful atmosphere, democratic dispensation and economic growth of the country.
Sunny Electronics is being partnered in this plant assemblage by the Ghanaian firm, Capitaline Group Limited and Kingdom Capital Ghana Limited. CEO of Capitaline Group, Mr Benjamin Nii Commey Otoo after taking a tour of Sunny's factory in Istanbul expressed satisfaction in the supply and production process of electronic gadgets.
"Your decision to invest in Ghana is welcome. You can trust our investments environment. The country has a relatively good interest rate terrain and you can be sure of reaping dividends provided your outfit produces affordable, reliable, durable and energy-efficient gadgets," Mr Otoo observed.
As a road map, a team of Sunny officers will be in Ghana before the end of March to tighten arrangements in terms of site location and distribution mechanism. Sunny executives told Ghana Daily they hope to begin production by May, 2013 after the ground details have been sorted out.
If this arrangement comes to fruition, Ghana will thus be the first sub-saharan African country to host Sunny Electronics.
At least 700,000 jobs will be created for Ghanaian youth in this arrangement. Ghanaian partners, Capitaline Group and Kingdom Capital are hoping this opportunity will make Ghana to be the distribution hub of Sunny electronic gadgets in Africa.
In another related development, one of Turkey's foremost construction pioneers is relishing the desire to put up an ultra-modern international airport for Ghana at what company top shots called "very good price to meet Ghana's international image."
The current Kotoka Airport is deemed to be too small and unable to accommodate the huge operational numbers in the aviation industry.
This paper was hinted that the airport project will be on "Build, Operate and Transfer" arrangement. This arrangement will relieve Government of committing too much funds for this noble project.
