As part of its educational programs earmarked for the year 2016, members of Ghana Real Estate Professionals Association (GREPA) were taken through a two-day training session on Real Estate Ethics and Lead Generation.
The two-day session which took place at the UT Bank Training Academy in East Legon from February 16 to February 17 was sponsored by UT Properties.
Two seasoned African volunteer Realtors from the United States took time and resources imparting knowledge to the Realtors.
During the training session, members of the Ghana Real Estate Professional Association (GREPA) were entreated to protect the integrity of the real estate profession with best business practices since the success of their business is directly linked to what former clients tell others about their business transaction experiences.
"Trust, integrity and outstanding business ethics must always be the trump card of Realtors since all referrals emanate from satisfied clients",
Participants were happy as they were taken through practical lectures by the seasoned real estate professionals with many years of experience in the vibrant US real market.
The objective of the training sessions, according to GREPA executives, is to train its members on how to develop their business by applying real estate techniques and systems to generate leads, manage and feed the leads at the same time applying international ethical standards in order to improve the image of the real estate profession in Ghana.
Emphasizing on ethics in real estate the facilitators reiterated the fact that real estate agents are not in business mainly to sell and rent properties to their clients but to build healthy relationships with prospective clients which will lead to the development of more business activities.
According to Mr. Garba, statistics show that Realtors stay in business mostly because of referrals so they should strive to conduct business ethically.
"Remember every client has a relation so if you treat them well, they would refer them to you and you would always be in business”, he said.
After the two day-workshop, participants expressed gratitude to the Facilitators who are also affiliate members of GREPA for broadening their knowledge in the industry.
" I have learnt a lot about lead generation and I am sure without this workshop I probably would not have had the chance to listen to such experienced persons”, one of the participants said.
