The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that the revised tariffs for its consumers will take effect February 1, 2016.
The new tariffs follow negotiation between the government and organized labour a few days ago.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform its cherished customers that effective Monday February 01, 2016… the negotiated reliefs from the Government of Ghana to ECG customers will be fully implemented,” a statement signed by the acting director for customer services Kobina Arthur-Forson said.
Following the “successful negotiation of reliefs for electricity consumers,” residential users who spend between 0-50 units have had 45% increment while 51-300 units users will see a 50% increment. Those who spend between 301 to 600 units will experience 59.2% increment.
