Rural Bank introduces loan scheme for Teachers

Ajumako-Mando(C/R), July 4, GNA - Teachers and other salaried workers in the Mfantsiman District of the Central Region, are to enjoy a special financial assistance scheme initiated by the Ekumfiman Rural Bank.

Under the scheme, teachers would be considered for loans periodically to support their wives engaged in trading and other businesses to encourage them to accept posting to the area. Mr Michael Kumi Frimpong, Supervising Manager of the Bank, announced the package at the launch of a mobile savings scheme at Ajumako-Mando, on Friday.

He gave the assurance that other salaried workers in the area would be considered and appealed to those who have not opened an account with bank to do so to enable them to enjoy package.

Mr Joseph Kenneth Grant, an official of the Bank, advised farmers, transport operators, artisans, traders and fishmongers in the district to take advantage of the mobile savings scheme to save with the Bank. He explained that under the mobile savings programme, officials of the bank would collect their deposits at their doorstep in their towns and villages to save them the trouble of travelling long distances to save the money.

Mr Grant stressed the determination of the management of the Bank to offer people in the Mfantsiman district with credible banking services.
