The Doctoral Residencies held in Accra, Ghana from March 2013 – February 2014 were successful with a total of 186 candidates from different countries including Thailand, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Cayman Island, Canada, Zimbabwe, Kenya, South Africa, USA and Ghana.
The taught courses covered during the Doctoral Residencies included: Research Methodology and Redesign, International Marketing Management, Project Finance, Performance Management, International Project Management, Investment, Taxation and Fraud Examination, Derivatives and Financial Markets, Managerial Economics and Corporate Finance and Governance, Advanced Management Strategy, Commercial and Investment Banking, Strategic Leadership and e-Business Management.
Visiting professors who instructed and supported the doctoral candidates included: Dr. John Nugent, Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, Dr. Francis Piron, Dr. Ted Sun, Dr. Geoffrey Vanderpal, Dr. John Marangos and Dr. Thomas Grisham.
Mr. Maxwell Gakpo, SMC Ambassador, who was congratulating a DBA cohort at a recent doctoral residency held in Accra, mentioned that the University was expecting 3 new cohorts in May 2014.
He wished the participants the very best with the knowledge they have acquired and said he look forward to see their doctoral studies and thesis take shape.
Meanwhile, the University over the weekend held its 7th Students’ Social and Networking Event at the African Regent Hotel. Professor John Marangos (PhD), the guest speaker for the session, made a presentation on the topic “Nature of Doctoral Studies, Research Methodology & Writing Skills."
The students took the opportunity to socialize and network. Mr. Gakpo, SMC Ambassador, was instrumental in the successful organization of the residencies in Accra.
