Accra, Aug. 8, GNA - Trading on the Ghana Stock Exchange recorded one of the highest sessions this year on Friday on the back of a high demand of SSB Bank shares, to post a record trading of 4.6 million shares.
The last session saw total shares traded fixing at a low of 234,900 shares.
The GSE All-Share Index went up by 5.6 points to finish an impressive week at 2,386.49 points, from Wednesday's close of 2,380.89 points. The Change in the year to date was 71.04 per cent.
In a dramatic and active session, six equities saw price appreciations with no decliners.
Market capitalization closed the week at 9,447.60 billion cedis from 9,433.85 billion cedis for the previous session.
Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) closed trading 500 cedis richer to end at 6,600 on a renewed investor interest.
SSB made 36 cedis to close at 7,440 cedis and British American Tobacco was up 65 cedis to finish at 2,000 cedis.
Produce Buying Company closed trading gaining five cedis to close at 755 cedis, Unilever gained two cedis at 7,702, Standard Chartered Bank was up one cedi to end at 57,001 cedis and GCB 10 cedis at 7,410 cedis.
