UPDATE: As of 2:57 PM, the Ghana Police Service said Tony Mintah had been found. The Police noted that it will provide the public with relevant information in due course.

A Senior Manager of Ghanaian firm NextGen InfraCo, Kwame Tony Mintah, has been reported missing by the Ghana Police Service.

NextGen InfraCo is the company that was awarded the licensing contract to carry out Ghana's rollout of the 5G spectrum.

In a statement issued by the Police on October 23, 2024, Tony Mintah was abducted by unidentified individuals at the premises of the National Communications Authority in Accra.

The police are urging the public to remain calm and report any relevant information that may help in locating Tony Mintah to the designated hotline; 0547927272.

Earlier in June this year, the government through the Ministry of Communications and Digitilisation announced that Next-Gen InfraCo (NGIC) had been selected to rollout affordable 5G mobile broadband services in the country.

The incident comes about a week before the government roll's out the implementation of the 5G service on November 1, 2024.
