Ghanaians on Twitter have poured outrage over the pricey internet packages rolled out by telecommunication service providers.
Latest analysis by A4AI on mobile broadband pricing for the second quarter of 2019 shows that, the cost of mobile data for consumers in low and middle-income countries has fallen. However, the story seems to be different in Ghana.
Ghana’s telecom giant MTN launched a campaign called #mtnbundlesdontexpire to inform patrons of their non-expiry data bundle.
Data bundling on 138#, 567# and on the MyMTN App has never been this easy and flexible and best of all, they do not expire !!???????? RT pic.twitter.com/FCX6WSNwAA

This campaign was met with huge backlash because Ghanaians feel telecom operators have taken them for a ride.
They have therefore launched a counter hash tag #SaveOurData to talk about internet problems in the country.
Below are some of the tweets

What are your Rankings?
You make bundle and in a few minutes all is gone. Mtn , Vodafone and airtel-Tigo are all the same. The data deductions are too much, like cocain. And is only in Ghana. Enough is enough. #SaveOurData
