Societe Generale, one of the leading banks in Ghana, has launched a Chinese desk which is fully dedicated to Chinese corporations in Ghana.
Gilbert Hie, Managing Director of Societe Generale Ghana, who was speaking at the launch in Accra, said the main objective is to enhance the bank’s relationship with the Chinese community and cater for Chinese investors.
He said the Chinese desk is one of the first to be established in Societe Generale’s subsidiaries on the African continent.
Mr Hie said both the Chinese community and Societe Generale Group highly appreciate the gesture by his outfit.
Shujue Cai, Head of China-Africa Business Development for Societe Generale Group, said the aim of the Societe Generale Group is to sustain all Chinese groups established in Africa owning to their expertise and global network.
“The extension of relations with Chinese corporations in all other African subsidiaries within a year is already in place in order to create better synergy and cooperation,” he said.
Societe Generale Ghana looks forward to organizing many of such events in the future to serve Chinese companies better, Ms Cai said.
