In a significant demonstration of its corporate social responsibility, Softcare, the leading feminine brand in Africa, has successfully renovated and painted the wall of St. Augustine Anglican Primary and Junior High School in Dansoman, Accra.

The renovation, valued at GH¢45,000.00, is a testament to Softcare’s commitment to enhancing the educational environment for children and supporting the communities it serves. The handover ceremony took place on Friday, 18th October 2024, at the school premises, where representatives from Softcare presented the school with a beautifully renovated wall that embodies creativity and inspiration for students.

Along with the renovation, Softcare also donated 50 boxes of sanitary pads to the school, ensuring that young girls have access to essential hygiene products.

Making the presentation, Jasper Archer, Commercial Director of Softcare FM, noted, "We believe that a safe and welcoming environment is crucial for learning and development. By renovating the school wall and providing sanitary pads, we hope to empower the students and demonstrate that caring extends beyond just providing quality products. We want to invest in the future of our children, especially young girls, and ensure that they have the support they need to thrive," Mr. Archer concluded.

"At Softcare, we understand that our responsibility extends beyond our products. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of women and children, not just in Ghana but across the African continent, particularly in promoting the health and hygiene of girls."

In a statement, he added that the diaper and sanitary pad industry in Ghana has also created direct and indirect employment for more than 5,000 people, cultivating a large number of technical talents in Ghana. Consumers are not only benefiting from the high standard and safe quality but also enjoy the affordable price of products proudly made in Ghana.

It is worth noting that the local manufacturing capacity in Ghana is up to 2.5 billion diapers, whereas the local demand is barely 900 million diapers yearly. This stark disparity highlights the urgent need for measures to understand and protect local manufacturers and enterprises in terms of policymaking, regulation enforcement, and market fairness.

Nana Ama McBrown, known for her warmth and pleasant personality, is the brand ambassador for Softcare. She is able to connect easily with everyone, especially women and girls. Her passion for family and well-being aligns with the brand’s values, ensuring trust and comfort. With her influence, she brings a sense of reliability and care to Softcare.

In response, the Headmistress of St. Augustine Anglican Primary and Junior High School, Madam Gloria Essah, expressed gratitude to Softcare for the gesture and emphasized the need for the government to remove all taxes on sanitary pads and baby diapers to make them affordable for girls, ensuring their continual stay in school for teaching and learning.

Softcare, renowned for its high-quality feminine hygiene products, including baby diapers, baby wipes, and sanitary pads, is dedicated to caring for all women and babies in Ghana. The company’s mission is centred around the health and safety of its customers, which is reflected in the thoughtful design and production of its products.
