MADRID, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Spain's third-biggest power firm Union Fenosa said on Thursday it was part of a consortium which won a $35 million contract to build a 30 megawatt cogeneration plant in Ghana.
A spokesman for Fenosa said the Spanish utility, through its unit Energias Especiales, held more than a 50 percent stake in the project.
The new plant near the capital Accra will store residual fuel from a nearby refinery.
The Electricity Company of Ghana and Britain's Commonwealth Development Corporation are two of the several partners in the project
