Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Oquaye has officially launched and unveiled the logo for 2019 Africa Security, Safety Expo and Awards (ASAS Expo) in Accra.
The event slated for 22 to 25th May, would serve as a platform to engage all relevant stakeholders in the security sector to discuss topical issues and other new threats relating to the country’s safety.
Under the theme "Advancing Africa through security and safety technology”, the ASAS EXPO and Awards, is aimed at awarding investors who have over the years helped to improve proficiency in the areas of border, maritime, aviation, security and intelligence.
At the launch of the program on Thursday, January 24, the Speaker of Parliament urged all security personnel to adopt new ways of combatting crime in the country.
He added that state security agencies should always be a step ahead and smarter than criminals in order to ensure proper safety in the country.
“Security agencies must be wiser than the wisest of all criminals, smarter than the smartest of all criminals in order to keep our societies safe.” He averred.
The Africa Security, safety expo and Awards (ASAS Expo) will feature over 20 international CPD training sessions, host over 40 awards, attract over 200 local and international exhibitors, regulators, buyers and over 5,000 visitors in May 2019.
The upcoming event is partnered by Ghana Maritime Authority, branding company Mullen Lowe, Global Haulage and the National Cyber Security Centre.
