Stanbic Bank has, for the fourth time in a row, been named PR organization of the year – financial sector at the just ended 7th IPR awards in Accra.
The event, which took place at the La Palm Beach Hotel, Labadi, Accra on Friday February 1, was under the theme “Deriving Value from Values: A Test for Corporate Governance”. The event saw the gathering of public relations and communications professionals in the country.
Stanbic Bank also emerged Best in Crisis and Issues management winner. Speaking at the awards ceremony, Head of Marketing and Communications, Stanbic Bank, Mawuko Afadzinu, said winning the award for the fourth time in a row cements the bank’s position as the foremost PR organization in the country and also a testament to how the bank is constantly fashioning innovative ways to engage all its stakeholders.
“We dedicate these awards to all our customers, clients and stakeholders. We share this moment of pride with them not only because we have a relationship with them, but also because without them we would not even have an existence. We will continue to do the best we can as members of the Ghanaian society in building the Ghana we all dream of”, Mr. Afadzinu said.
“Our model is to create impeccable client experiences for our customers and all stakeholders in their financial and non-financial encounters with the bank. This comprehensive vision is what truly differentiates us,” he said.
The Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana was established in 1972, as the sole professional body for public relations practitioners in Ghana, to promote a forward looking public relations body for increased stakeholder value. IPR, Ghana aims to consolidate and establish Institute as a distinctive, respectable and proactive body giving direction to public relations practitioners and students in Ghana. The guest speaker at the 7th IPR awards was Nana Otuo Serebuor, Chairman of the Council of State.
Other winners on the night included Ms Adiki Ofeibea Ayitevie of Newmont Africa who was adjudged the PR Personality of the year 2017, Touchpoint Magna Carta (Most Outstanding PR organisation of the year) with Mr Clarence Amoatey emerging as the PR Discovery of the year.
