Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - Standard Chartered Bank Ghana (SCB) on Thursday announced a second dividend of 366.56 cedis per share in respect of the period March 31, 2006 to September 29, 2006. A statement issued in Accra by the Ghana Stock Exchange said all shareholders registered in the books of the Bank at the close of business on September 2, 2006 would qualify for the second dividend, which would be paid on October 2.
It said the register of shareholders would be closed from September 25-26.
The statement said the ex-dividend date had been set as September 20 2006.
"Consequently, an investor purchasing SCB preference shares before this date will be entitled to the second dividend. However, an investor buying SCB preference shares on or after Wednesday, September 20 will not be entitled to the second dividend."
Stanchart is the second highest equity on the GSE after Anglogold Ashanti. Its closing price on September 13 was 142,000 cedis while that of Anglogold Ashanti was 300,000 cedis.
It has the third highest market capitalization (2,498.64 billion cedis) after Anglogold Ashanti (82,265.12 billion cedis) and the newly enlisted Ecobank Transnational International (13,717.64 billion cedis).
