Starr 103.5FM adjudged Best Emerging Brand for 2014

Starr 103.5 FM has received its first award within four months of operations. The Ring Road-based Radio Station was adjudged the Best Emerging Brand for 2014 by the Global Professional Achievers awards event.

The event, which was held at the Banquet Hall, Thursday, was graced by the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie; Teddy Osei, founder of the famous Osibisa group, as well as Members of Parliament and several other high dignitaries.

CEO of Starr FM, Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray in his acceptance speech said "this is the beginning of greater things to come and we give God all the glory".

Jeff Sowa, Head of Brands and Promotions at Starr FM said the award means the four-month-old Radio Station will have to work hard now to prove to the world that the award was well deserved.

The Awards, which is in partnership with Africa 2.0 Foundation in South Africa, honoured and recognised exceptional achievement in Business and Professions across Africa.

The awards, for over a decade has been showcasing and honouring achievements in the UK and Africa.

This year's event, which was dubbed: “Celebrating Africa’s Icons of Innovation” presented 13 awards to key Change Drivers on the African Continent.

Mr. Edward Effah, CEO of Fidelity Bank, Ghana; Mrs. Kate Quartey-Papafio, CEO of Reroy Cables, Ghana, and Technology expert Ms Regina Agyare, CEO of Soronko Solutions, Ghana were among some of the awardees.

Teddy Osei was given a lifetime achievement award at the ceremony.
